A bi-fold door is a set of glazed aluminium panels, hinged together, that fold flat against one another and stack neatly to one side — rather than swinging open like a single door or French doors. Because the frame doesn’t need to support itself across the whole span the way a single sliding pane does, bi-folds can open far wider gaps while keeping a slim, modern look. It’s why they’ve become one of the most popular ways to open up the back of a UK home.
